I believe we must run a clean, positive campaign that encourages people to vote Green here in Kingston and the Islands and across the country. We already have the best platform that puts people first now we have to make Canadians feel good about voting for that platform and the only way to do that is to bring a refreshingly positive view into politics that focuses on how a vote for Green will make life better for Canadians! Green Party isn’t just a political party we’re a movement that brings a new look into politics that have never been seen before.

Kingston Greens can win here. Am I just being optimistic? No, I believe that we can win here by running a clean, positive campaign that encourages people to vote Green in Kingston and across the country.

Kingston Greens have a long history of running this type of campaign but we have yet to win. So what makes me think this time is different? So many things are pointing towards Canadians voting Green, for instance, People are more aware of climate change, Since the 2015 election we have elected 3 MLA in NB, One MPP in Ontario, we hold the balance of power in BC and we form the opposition in PEI. Yesterday by-election in Nanaimo–Ladysmith, Paul Manly became the second person to be elected Green MP.

So what does this mean for Kingston and the Islands? For the first time in Canada Greens are being elected coast to coast. The time for change has come and Kingston Greens is ready to fight hard in the upcoming election to get our best results ever. We are the only party in Kingston to have a contested nomination, which will take place on May 30th. On top of this, we had a strong presence before the nomination was called. For almost 11 months I have been going to events alone and with other Greens to build support up. Win or lose the nomination I can guarantee that Kingston will have a strong Green candidate that will fight hard for this amazing community.

In 2015 strategic voting hurt the Greens short term, four years later it has shown Canadians one thing strategic voting doesn’t work because the only way to get the government that we want is to vote with our hearts. That’s why the only thing that we have to is counter the notion that one vote is worth more than another.

The Green wave is here and it’s time to ride the wave and see a stampede of Green voters rushing to the polls to elect the government that they want.
